AR Wonderland
This project playfully expands the scenography of the “Factory of Joy” exhibition representing The Institute of Contemporary Design Practices (ICDP), as part of the FHNW Basel Academy of Art and Design within House of Switzerland Milano, Milano Design Week 2024. AR Wonderland presents the world where imagination knows no bounds.
Inspired by the profound words* of Einstein as a scientist and Picasso as an artist, this project transcends the confines of knowledge, embracing the limitless expanse of imagination.
This site-specific, Augmented Reality extension takes the form of a floating universe of childhood treasures. As such, it refers to the inexhaustive field of ideas as a natural habitat of the minds of imaginative youth, as well as points towards two important, but not exclusive, ingredients of the creative process in arts, design, and beyond: a playful dance of joy and imagination.
exhibition creative direction: Prof. Werner Baumhakl, Anastasia Bull, Adrian Forkin

* “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” A.Einstein
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” P. Picasso
